Principal

At Ximedes we're looking for a Principal to join our team.
Full-time · Ximedes B.V.

About the job

Principals are team leads, and ultimately responsible for delivering services to our customer. You lead a team of engineers, business analysts and testers; highly educated professionals with strong opinions and a passion to deliver quality. You create the internal and external conditions necessary for your team to be successful.

Being service minded to the core, you are committed to do whatever it takes to ensure customer satisfaction, while at the same time making sure your team is equally satisfied with their daily work. You do your work well if both your team member and your client is satisfied – both at least a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10, but rather an 8 – and the project does well financially too.

The Ximedes management team is your natural sparring partner in the company, and helps you deal with commerce, account management, people management, operations and technology.

About you

• A strong technical background in software development. While most of our principals previously worked as software engineers and architect, other software development roles can also be a basis for starting as a principal.
• Excellent communicative skills that are effective both within Ximedes as well as within the client’s organization. You are fluent in English, and you are sufficiently proficient in Dutch to make small talk. A conversational proficiency in German would be a nice bonus.
• The leadership skills necessary to lead a team of professional software developers.
• The motivation to make every project a success.

NB: We urge candidates to respond if they think they are a good fit for the role, even when they think they lack some of the above qualifications. Anything can be learned, and we are not afraid to invest in you if we see sufficient potential.

What we offer

• The freedom to, with your team, organize your work the way you see fit, and define your own role the way you think is best.
• A coaching management team that will actively support you in achieving your goals and includes you in the processes of making important decision regarding Ximedes’ strategy.
• A workplace where you’ll be surrounded by friendly, ambitious professionals who, with integrity and energy, try to create the best software in the world every single day.
• A large budget in hours and money for education
• A salary ranging from € 6.000,00 to € 7.500,00 gross + vacation allowance.
• Lease car, laptop etc.

We expect our employees to grow professionally by gaining deeper and wider insights into technology, the profession of software development and the domain e.g. knowledge for transactional systems. We think that client satisfaction and employee satisfaction are most important. To make our clients happy Ximedes provides them with quality services. To do that we rely on our employees. Their ideas, enthusiasm and quality of work determines the success of our projects. The only way to do the job well is if our employees are enjoying their time at work. At Ximedes the biggest contributor to job satisfaction of the people at Ximedes is the actual work we do, followed by the people we do it with - your colleagues. The work/life balance for our employees is great. We don't have an "overtime culture". Hybrid working is prevalent in all teams: We work partly in the office and partly from home. Of course, everyone receives the resources needed for this. There is a substantial budget available for training and education. And last but not least: lots of social events.
